On June 17-18 2023, Riichi Nomi NYC hosted the Riichi Nomi Open 2023; Riichi Nomi's third annual open tournament. 120 players attend the Riichi Nomi Open 2023. The Riichi Nomi Open 2023 used the 2022 WRC rules with 3 aka dora and nagashi mangan turned on. Riichi Nomi NYC

Riichi Nomi NYC is a Riichi mahjong club founded in the Greater New York City Area during 2020.[1]

Riichi Nomi NYC tracks some of the games at its public meetups and considers the highest scoring member the monthly champion; the same person may not be the monthly champion for more than one month of the year. The 12 monthly champions are invited to an "exclusive tournament" in January.[2]
