Riichi Canada (RC) is an unincorporated organization established in 2019 promoting riichi Mahjong in Canada, picking up after a vacuum left with North American attempts at continental leadership for a national alternative. Total membership is difficult to determine: the three main clubs are [Club Riichi de Montréal], [Toronto Riichi Club], and UBC Mahjong Club. There exists an informal communication structure for public and representative purposes, but otherwise, all clubs operate independently: usual rules, organization, operations. Riichi Canada acts as a national representative to international representatives that recognize RC as a legitimate unifying force. Riichi Canada supports the endeavours of the North American Riichi Mahjong Association, but as a separate entity.
