The 2020 World Riichi Championship is the third edition of the World Riichi Championship series. The mahjong group, Kasu, will be hosting the event in Vienna, Austria at the Intercontinental Hotel. The expected participant count will be 200 with regional quotas in discussion. The original dates of August 26-30, 2020 have been postponed to a later date due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The postponed date is expected to be moved into 2021. The new event dates have been announced for August 26-29, 2021. With the COVID-19 pandemic still ongoing, the event is further postponed to a later date in 2022.
