The Mahjong Saikyousen 「麻雀最強戦」 is a title match series hosted by Takeshobo, holder of Kindai Mahjong. The competition has been held annually since 1989.

Format

The 2021 qualification map.

The competition fields players from all over Japan. Participating jansou are eligible to host qualifying competitions. The top 10% from each location advance to the regional competition.
