While at [https://www.waseda.jp/top/en Waseda] in the summer of 2018, 鳥星雨 attended weekly meetings of [https://twitter.com/wasedakmc2014 Waseda's Mahjong Club], where he claims to have gotten a lot better at the game. There, 鳥星雨 learned how to "steal Riichi sticks" by pushing after someone else [[riichi]]s and winning small hands, but taking the Riichi stick in the process. After completing his summer program at Waseda, 鳥星雨 left Japan for his job located in Seoul, Korea, where his only exposure to the game is through playing net mahjong on [[Tenhou.net| Tenhou]], oftentimes with his friends in the US.
