| comment = At 22 han, this is a truly monstrous hand. | |||
The early dora ankou and pair of yakuhai make this a decent hand with an incredible amount of potential. With only one pair and one more taatsu, though, it looks like it would be slow to develop. The second go-round produces a second ton, which makes the hand much better as it's now safe to shanpon dabuton and chun without worrying about a yaku. A quick chii of 6s, pon of 2s, and the hand is tenpai with a nasty jihai shanpon.
After drawing another 5s, toitoi looks quite viable. The next 2s, on only the fifth go-round. gives a devastating push towards toitoi, with suuankou potential. Drawing a third ton puts the hand to suuankou tenpai on the 8th go-round, with yasume haneman (toitoi sankanou dabuton dora 3), and only one winning tile (the third non-red 5s) fails to produce baiman. Toimen's questionable daiminkan of 2p on the ninth go-round reveals another 8p, putting the hand into sanbaiman territory. Putting off the riichi until the eleventh go-round was an interesting decision (and questionable given the situation; a riichi this late only reduces the chances of winning what is a minimum 24000 and likely 36000 hand). Shimocha's immediate ankans to break ippatsu reveals hatsu, guaranteeing kazoe yakuman on any ron. Two pei on
