The scoring table is generated by calculating the point values of each han and fu combination. With known han and fu values, the appropriate point values can be read straight off the table. Memorizing the score table, or at least knowing the common values, can help decision making.

Dealer

  • The upper value to each scoring pair are the points awarded for tsumo. All nondealer players pay this amount to the dealer.
  • The lower value to each scoring pair are the points awarded for ron. The ron values are approximately or exactly three times the amount of the "tsumo" values.

Nondealer

  • The upper value to each scoring pair are the points awarded for tsumo. These points are arranged in pairs because of non-dealers and the dealer. All nondealer players pay the smaller amount, while the dealer pays the larger amount.
  • The lower value to each scoring pair are the points awarded for ron. The ron values are approximately or exactly the same as the dealer points plus two times the non-dealer points.
