Optional yaku are additional yaku, which may be appended to the standard list according to specific house rules.

If the dealer wins his or her ninth consecutive hand, the hand is scored for yakuman regardless of its value. The exact counting of wins may also vary; some rules may award the yakuman on the eighth, rather than ninth win, and some rules may allow the dealer to count the hand immediately before he or she became dealer. | |
