Nobetan 「ノベタン」, or nobetanki 「延べ単騎」, is a tile wait pattern that uses two separate tanki waits. With this pattern, the tenpai hand is looking to pair either one of two tiles for completion.
Pattern
The pattern is noticeable as four consecutive numbered tiles. When completed, the above example functions as follows:
Fu
The pattern generates 2 fu for the hand. Either tile type produces the pair; and thus, it counts for the waiting pattern of tanki.
